1939 World's Fair on San Francisco Bay: The San Francisco World's Fair 1939 was known as the Golden Gate International Exposition and celebrated the recently dedicated San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge. The Fair was operated in 1939 and 1940 on San Francisco's Treasure Island.

The fair's motto was: "Science Finds, Industry Applies, Man Conforms." This poster shows the Federal Building with a gold dome and three fluted towers that represent the three branches of United States Government.
